If you are one of those card holders with a bad credit, or just someone who steers clear of credit cards because you have this perception that nothing good comes out of credit cards, then that’s where you’re wrong. There are tons of credit cards out there who can give you the best deals; it’s just a matter of looking hard at it. You probably don’t know which cards that will offer you those credit cards that you want.

An excellent alternative way for people who are faced bankruptcy in the past or who just wants to pay for low interests rates are secured credit cards. A secured credit card is issued by banks; which deposit money in your savings account will serve as a guarantee against your credit limit. You just have to make sure that the credit card you chose can pay for the interest on your deposit.

However, we want to warn you about "pre approved" credit cards that you receive in your mails. Stay clear on those types of cards. You may think that offers such as a new credit card with a pre-approved credit limit is quite all right; but the truth is, the terms and conditions might give a high interest rate.

Once you agree to this kind of set up, you will automatically agree to transfer the entire balance of your other credit card to the new high interest account. That is why, it is advisable to never fall with this kind of trap. You will never know which extra interests that you are paying for.

To get a good credit card, you must do your homework regarding credit cards. Pick a plan that suits you best, and read the following information on the Federal Truth in Lending Acts. This will help you evaluate the credit cards that you might want to apply in the future.

•Finance charges in dollars and as an annual percentage rate (APR)
•Credit issuer or company giving that the credit limit.
•Size of the credit line
•Duration of the grace period, if any, prior to payment must be made.
•Minimum fee required.
•Annual fee, if applicable.
•Fees for credit insurance (if any).

There are three different types of credit card to choose from. They are:

• MasterCard, Visa, and Discover Card. Each types of credit card probably have the same features, but services, rates, and benefits may vary depending on the credit card company that issues them;
• Diners Club and American Express used for travel and entertainment; and,
• House cards which are used in one chain of stores.

When you choose a credit card, pick one that’s accepted anywhere you go; and at the same time, charges you with the least amount of interest. It would save you both time and trouble if you choose a card that mainly fits your style.
