Get the most out of your record
You need to make sure positive information gets reported, Do you have old credit card or installment loan that didn’t make it on the reports? Maybe a college loan with a perfect payment history that isn’t on one of the bureau reports. It’s very much up to you to make sure they get on your report. Find some evidence of these old accounts and get them on your report. Just contact the old creditors and get them to write a letter as proof, also, send a copy to the bureaus so they can report it, they might ask for a fee but it’s normally small and worth pay for the amount of good it could do.

When Getting New Credit Ask If they Report To A Bureau
Many creditors don’t report to bureaus, that is a fact. You want to avoid these companies, before you get new credit ask them if they report to credit bureaus, and ask which one. If you have been bankrupt this is especially important, as how can you build your credit if you are not getting it reported.

Always Pay Your Bills On Time
If if you have 30 days to pay your repayment amount pay it earlier, sometimes your negative payment could be reported to the credit bureaus before the 30 days is over, it depends on your creditors reporting cycle, you could find that you are reported negatively if you are around 25 days late, this has a big impact on your report so it’s not worth the risk of waiting till you hit the 30 day mark.

Try Not To Be a Addicted To Credit
Creditors do hate to see you applying for a many lines credit, like credit cards and other ways of getting money fast. It makes then nervous, you would be to as they are deciding to lend you credit but you already may own lots of other creditors. They will look at your pattern of opening new accounts. You will get marked down negatively if you keep applying for credit. Try and confine your mortgage shopping to a two-week period.

Open Unsecured Credit Card Accounts.
These are particularly useful for improving your credit score as using secured credit is not seen as favorable, around 3 accounts with credit access is preferable. Make sure you credit limits are not too high as you don’t want to fall into the trap of getting into a high amount of debt,.

Get a Debt Card
or a check card, this will make your balance appear zero as it only takes money out that you’ve actually got – it’s not a credit card. These cards are not reported to credit bureaus but it will make managing debt easier for you as you can purchase things over the net without the need for a credit card, thus avoiding those high interest rates.
